Overview

Gemeinnützigkeits-Triage is a first-level AI legal-triage tool for nonprofits facing challenges to their charitable status (Gemeinnützigkeit). It gives a foundation a fast, structured first read on a legal question before a lawyer is engaged, with a structured hand-off to human counsel. It is built on the Alvar Knowledge stack, retrieving over the relevant legal and regulatory corpus with citation-validated answers. A first version was delivered in six to eight weeks. It is funded through a solidarity model so the whole field benefits, and is designed to be owned and hosted long-term by the sector’s official body. The pilot runs with a leading German foundation in partnership with the sector’s official body.
